Change of Status, kind of [Dec. 9th, 2006|07:03 pm]
The Stargate / Quantum Leap Crossover Community

Hello, my faithful participants & readers.

Due to community feedback, I'm opening this comm up as a venue for Quantum Leap / Stargate Crossover fic (as opposed to solely relating to the ficathon). The ficathon will be, providing there is still interest, an annual occurance, so poke your heads back in next September for information, but until then...

Feel free to post or advertise your applicable fiction here. The goal of this community is to encourage crossovers between the above stated shows, whether through a controlled format like the ficathon or just by existing as a venue for this sub-genre of fic.

So, go forth! Write! Post! Do, um, fannish things!

Please, please, please don't kill me!! [Dec. 5th, 2006|11:46 pm]

My real life went a bit crazy this past week and a half or so (new job), and unfortunately this ficathon paid the price. I apologize.

However, I wanted to make sure everyone knew that the list for this year, while not complete (we've got one or two submissions that are still MIA), is now posted. If I have it, it's up on sg_1a_ql. There are one or two that I'm still getting transferred, but those are 'extras' - submissions in-theme but not written with a specific recipient - all fic written for the ficathon is up.

Thanks to everyone who's been taking part; the complete story list, organized by crossover series (SGA or SG1) will be up when the author-listing is posted at the end of the week.

Hey there, my intrepid and adventurous authors. I, your illustrious admin, unfortunately dropped the ball a bit due to some recent developments in my real life, so I thought I'd poke my nose up, apologize, and let you know what the schedule for the next week is.

Official Due Date - December 1, 2359 PST
Practical Due Date - December 3, 0900, EST

As long as you have it formatted for LJ, you've got until the practical deadline to get it in to me without being "Late". That evening, the anon posts go up via sg_1a_ql.

The reveal is the following Friday, the 8th, at which point you are free to repost wherever you like.

Thanks for your patience!

Calendar Confusions, Revised Dates, and Withdrawals [Oct. 16th, 2006|10:14 am]

So, technically, the last day to officially withdraw from the Stargate
Leap ficathon was yesterday.

You will note the lack of a 1-week-warning in your inboxes.

For the sake of fairness, I'm going to extend the deadline until Wednesday
October 18th at 2359 PST so that anyone who needs to drop and forgot about
the deadline can do so without penalty.

I'm adjusting the due-date as well to November 30th at 2359 PST just so
that it's a nice round number. Pinch-Hitters will receive their status
updates on the 19th.

If I don't receive word from you by the end of the 18th (Either via EMail or via comment to this post(All comments will be screened)), I will be
expecting a completed piece on Nov. 30th.

Guidelines for your submissions will go out next weekend, once I've got an
accurate number of participants.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Assignments Are Out! [Sep. 18th, 2006|07:46 pm]

Everyone should now have a ficathon assignment in their Inbox. If you haven't received it by 2359 PST tonight (allowing for server processing time), please contact the moderator - either by EMail or by responding to this entry. I apologize that notifications went out late, Excel crashed on me yesterday and took out my ficathon registries in the process.

Reminders will be going up here (and via EMail) as we draw closer to the due date: 1-Week to Drop Deadline, Drop Deadline, 2-Weeks to Due Date, 1-Week to Due Date, and Morning of the Due Date.

Remember that the Drop Deadline is the last day you can withdraw from the ficathon without extenuating circumstances. Those who offered to Pinch-Hit - You will get an EMail by October 17th informing you whether you have been activated.

Now, something I hadn't mentioned before that I think I'm going to do (Because we've had an incredible range of ideas, and given the breakdown only a quarter of them will be written this go-around): Following the Due Date, I'll be posting a list of un-selected prompts for anyone who would like to make use of them. After all, the goal of this community is to encourage the production of Stargate/Quantum Leap crossovers; even if they're written after the due date, they're still a good thing!

Again, a sincere thanks to everyone who's taking part. Best of luck!
